Attendance is important to us all in The Excel Academy and in the year 2014-2015, the Academy’s attendance was above the national average. You as parents can play a major part in helping us maintain and improve on this. Full school attendance is very important to ensure that your son/daughter makes the best possible progress. If your son/daughter is absent from the Academy, we ask that you telephone us on each day of absence and support this with a letter when your son/daughter returns to the Academy. We also ask that you do not take your son/daughter out of school on holiday during term time. Holidays will only be authorised in exceptional circumstances and a letter must be written to the Principal requesting such absence.
- The Academy monitors attendance very carefully and works closely with parents and the Education Welfare service to ensure that support is provided to ensure that each students attendance maximises his/her opportunity to succeed.
- Each week we celebrate the best Form and Years attendance and those students with 100% attendance are given the opportunity to win rewards as we recognise their achievement. Each term, students who have maintained such excellent attendance receive badges and rewards for their success. Annually they are recognised at our Awards Evening held at the Victoria Hall.
